City Bank's profit after taxes recorded at Tk 1,907m

DHAKA : City Bank recently presented its half-yearly financial performance for 2017 through an "Earning Disclosure" event held at bank's head office.

The bank declared its consolidated earnings per share (EPS) for the January-June 2017 period at Tk 2.18 against that of Tk 2.30 for the same period in 2016. Consolidated profit after taxes was recorded at Tk 1,907 million for the first half of 2017 whereas it was Tk 2,014 million for the same period last year.

Bank's loans and advance and deposit have grown by 15.2 per cent and 19.1 per cent respectively. In addition, trade volume has also increased by 20 per cent.

At the event, Sohail RK Hussain, Managing Director and CEO, City Bank briefly spoke of the bank's long-term vision and current strategic outlook. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Chief Financial Officer, City Bank also gave an overview of the recent financial performance of the bank.

The event was broadcast live and had both local and foreign participants from the investors' community as well as higher officials of the bank.

'Earning Disclosure' event was hosted as a part of the bank's initiative to scale up investor relations worldwide.
