Airlines from 13 countries to operate scheduled passenger flights to and from BD

Dhaka: Airlines of Bahrain, China, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Oman, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Turkey, UAE, and the UK are to operate scheduled international passenger flights to and from Bangladesh effective December 5.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh announced in a circular released on November 30.

Apart from the aforementioned countries, all other flights shall be conducted following the usual procedure except for the relief/humanitarian, repatriation, citizen evacuation, and diplomatic flights. For the latter, the request must be made to CAAB through the Foreign Ministry, added the circular.

Passengers intending to travel abroad from Bangladesh shall possess the necessary travel documents required by the destination country or the airline. On the other hand, passengers coming to Bangladesh must possess a Covid-test certificate obtained within 72 hours of departure.

If no Covid symptom is found on arrival at the health check desk, incoming passengers must complete a 14-days home quarantine. But if any Covid symptom is detected, then passengers must go through institutional quarantine for 14-days, said CAAB in the circular.
