Dhaka: The government is eyeing to ease the ongoing strict lockdown from July 15 by lifting some restrictions ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
"A proposal in this regard has been sent, for allowing public transport to run again and shops to open on a limited scale," said the Cabinet Division.
However, "considering the Covid-19 crisis, the government may impose strict lockdown again after Eid-ul-Azha," an official of the Cabinet Division claimed.
Nonetheless, the proposal is currently awaiting approval from the government's top authorities.
Due to the rising cases of coronavirus, the government imposed a nationwide strict lockdown on July 1 initially. Then it was again extended till July 14.
