Port Louis: Mauritius is ready to open its doors to international travelers from July 15. According to reports, the popular holiday hotspot will be reopening in two phases. During the first phase from July 15 to September 30, the island will be welcoming vaccinated travelers to enjoy resort holidays on the island.
Visitors from anywhere will be welcomed to the island nation, provided they have already received the second dose of their Covid-19 vaccination at least three weeks before arriving in Mauritius.
Reports further said the second phase of reopening will begin from October, which will continue till the year end.
During the first phase, those visiting the island nation will be able to enjoy facilities that come within their chosen resort premises. If the visitors stay there for more than 14 days and have negative PCR tests during their stay in the resort, they will also be allowed to explore the island’s attractions. However, those visiting for shorter stays will be required to leave the resort earlier and travel back home.
Those not vaccinated yet will have to wait a bit longer to get their vaccine shot, and then plan their travel to Mauritius. Those under 18 do not need to be vaccinated to travel to the island nation, however, they will be required to undergo PCR testing.
