Passengers without full dose vaccination from Argentina, Malaysia, Spain, eight other countries cannot enter BD

Dhaka: Passengers without full doses of vaccine from Argentina, Botswana, Cuba, Cyprus, Eswatini, Georgia, Iran, Libya, Malaysia, Mongolia and Spain cannot enter Bangladesh, said the Civil Aviation Authority on August 16 in a circular.

Following the government guidance and instruction, with immediate effect until further notice, scheduled international passenger flights shall continue as per their approved time slots under Summer-2021 schedule. Mentionable air bubble flights will remain suspended until further notice issued separately, the circular added.

Passengers from Argentina, Botswana, Cuba, Cyprus, Eswatini, Georgia, Iran, Libya, Malaysia, Mongolia and Spain (Group A) who have completed full doses of Covid-19 vaccination 14 days prior to the travel date can enter Bangladesh.

After arrival, they will have to complete 14 days strict home quarantine.

However, if any Covid-19 symptoms are found on arrival, passengers will be sent to government authorized hospital for further checkup depending on the nature or intensity of the symptoms will be sent to isolation at government nominated facilities or hotel at passenger’s own expense.

Passengers without full dose vaccination from these countries cannot enter Bangladesh.  

Bangladeshi expatriates residing in Group A countries and Bangladeshi expatriates who visited these countries in previous 15 days of travel to Bangladesh, are allowed to travel to Bangladesh provided that they have special approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bangladesh.

Bangladeshi seafarers/engineers of ships, have signed off from the ships from the countries of Group A within previous 15 days of travel to Bangladesh, can return provided they possess proper and valid documentary evidences about their profession and signing off.

On arrival in Bangladesh, in both cases of having full doses of vaccine or not, they have to complete a mandatory 14 days institutional quarantine at government nominated hotels on passengers’ own expenses. Proof of hotel booking shall be produced during check-in and the airlines representatives shall verify it before issuing the boarding pass.
