Dhaka: Singapore has announced that fully vaccinated travellers from eight countries – Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Italy, Norway, South Korea, and Switzerland – can apply to opt out of dedicated facilities, serving their stay-home notices (SHN) at their residence instead from August 20 11:59 pm.
The Singapore government recognises vaccination regimens under the World Health Organisation’s Emergency Use Listing, including Pfizer-BioNTech/ Comirnaty, Moderna, Sinovac-Coronavc, Sinopharm and AstraZeneca's vaccines.
As part of Singapore's plan to transition to a new normal, travellers from Taiwan who test negative for Covid-19 on arrival in the city from August 7 can skip quarantine as well.
In response to an improved situation, the Ministry of Health released a statement that travellers have to be in Taiwan for at least 21 days and must take a PCR test upon arrival in Singapore. If the PCR test returns negative, they will be able to go about their activities freely and need not serve the 14-day SHN.
Air Travel Passes have also been reinstated for short-term visitors entering Singapore on or after August 12.
Furthermore, from August 10, Singapore will allow dining-in at F&B outlets to resume, but only for fully vaccinated people in up to groups of five.
The current group size for social gatherings will also be increased from two to five from August 10.
Meanwhile, green light has been given for MICE events, live performances and spectator sports to take place with up to 1,000 attendees from August 19 if all are fully vaccinated.
