MTB Foundation distributes livelihood assets grant among fishing communities

Dhaka : MTB Foundation, as part of its project titled 'Creating Alternative Live-lihood for Vulnerable Fishing Communities through Income Generating Activities (IGAs)' distributed livelihood assets grant to a large number of Households (HHs) of the vulnerable fishing communities at Lalpur Union and Chandpur Pourasabha, Chandpur District.

Under this program, MTB Foundation distributed materials for poultry farming, homestead gardening, and small businesses.

These IGAs will be driven by the female family members of the fishermen who will take the activities forward to create an income source throughout the year during the fishing ban periods.

The event was attended by Samia Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer, and Golam Rabbani, Associate of MTB Foundation. Shahabuddin Panna, Execu-tive Director, Nazrul Smriti Sangsad-NSS, was also present at the event along with other high officials.

MTB Founda-tion carried out the initiative in celebration of the bank’s anniversary.
