Dhaka: Istanbul Airport is now the most connected airport globally with direct flights to 310 international destinations.
The global aviation hub connects Europe, Asia, Africa, and even parts of the Americas now—quickly and efficiently, as per reports.
Despite the impressive milestone, the airport only ranks seventh globally in passenger movement.
This shows, other airports in the world, such as Atlanta in US, Dubai in the UAE, and London Heathrow in the UK, handle higher volume of travelers, even after Istanbul Airport leads in connectivity.
However, while airports like Atlanta focus on domestic flights and local passengers, Istanbul concentrates on connecting travelers between continents, serving as a strategic point for international stopovers.
The airport's success also follows the expansion of Turkish Airlines’ operations—one of the airlines that flies to the highest number of destinations globally.
