Dhaka: Qatar Airways was named World’s Best Airline at Skytrax’s World Airline Awards 2025 held during Paris Air Show at Le Bourget airport’s Air and Space Museum on June 17.
Some 500 guests attended the gala ceremony from airlines across the world, with a large number of airline Chairmen, CEOs, and Presidents accepting the awards.
The Doha based airline won the award for the ninth time now. Qatar Airways also won awards as the Best Airline in the Middle East, for having the World’s Best Business Class, and Best Business Class Airline Lounge.
On the other hand, Singapore Airlines grabbed the second spot this year, while Cathay Pacific Airways moved up to third place. Emirates was ranked fourth and All Nippon Airways fifth, out of more than 325 airlines included in the survey results.
Turkish Airlines, Korean Air, Air France, Japan Airlines, and Hainan Airlines, bagged the rest of the positions in the top ten ranking respectively, while Saudi Arabian Airlines grabbed the 17th spot.
Singapore Airlines took awards for the World’s Best Cabin Crew, the World’s Best First Class, and the Best Airline in Asia. Taiwanese STARLUX Airlines won for the World’s Most Improved Airline. AirAsia won the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline award. Scoot received the World’s Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline award.
All Nippon Airways won the award for the World’s Best Airport Services and the Best Airline Staff Service in Asia.
German low-cost airline Eurowings received the award as the Best Low-Cost Airline in Europe. Allegiant Air was named the Best Low-Cost Airline in North America. JetSMART was named the Best Low-Cost Airline in South America.
The award for the World’s Most Family Friendly Airline was won by Lufthansa. Plaza Premium received the award as the World’s Best Independent Airport Lounge operator, for their Plaza Premium Lounge at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport.
Cathay Pacific received the award for the World’s Best Inflight Entertainment. Saudia was the winner of the Best Airline Staff Service in the Middle East award.
The World’s Best Regional Airline was won by Bangkok Airways. In the India/South Asia region, low-cost airline IndiGo received the top award. It also picked up the Best Low-Cost Airline award for the region.
Qantas Airways was named the Best Airline in Australia/Pacific, Virgin Australia won the award for the Best Airline Staff Service in Australia/Pacific as well as the Best Regional Airline award for the region.
In North America, Air Canada topped the awards as the Best Airline in North America, with Air Canada’s Toronto Pearson Signature Suite also winning the Best Business Class Lounge Dining award.
Delta Air Lines received the award for the Best Airline Staff Service in North America. In Africa, Ethiopian Airlines won the Best Airline in Africa award for the seventh consecutive year, and FlySafair won the Best Low-Cost Airline in Africa award.
Turkish Airlines was named the Best Airline in Europe. It also won the award for World’s Best Business Class Onboard Catering and the Best Airline in Southern Europe.
China’s Hainan Airlines won awards as the Best Airline in China, the Best Airline Staff Service in China, and for the World’s Best Business Class Comfort Amenities.
Air France was a multiple winner as the Best Airline in Western Europe, for the World’s Best First Class Comfort Amenities, and its Paris CDG Terminal 2 Lounge won the World’s Best First Class Lounge Dining award.
Star Alliance collected the award as the World’s Best Airline Alliance and also won the Best Airline Alliance Lounge award for its Paris CDG Airport Lounge at Terminal 1.
