Dhaka: The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bangladesh, on June 15, hosted a reception to celebrate Russia Day—the annual national event of Russia that commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in 1990.
Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Adviser, Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, and Ministry of Railways, attended the event as the chief guest.
In his speech, he recalled the solid foundation Russia-Bangladesh relations stand on and expressed optimism about deepening bilateral cooperation in energy and agriculture sectors.
Alexander Khozin, Ambassador of Russia to Bangladesh, delivered the welcome address, highlighting Russia's vast natural resources, scientific potential, and cultural heritage.
The Ambassador also emphasized Russia's independent foreign policy that aims at creating an equal and indivisible security architecture in Eurasia.
Other Bangladeshi officials, representatives of diplomatic corps, media, and business communities, academic circles, cultural figures, and Russian compatriots attended the event.
The program also featured a musical performance by the Moscow Russian Song Ensemble.

Furthermore, the Russian state corporation Rosatom, which is constructing the first nuclear power plant in Bangladesh in Rooppur of Pabna, organized a guest performance.
It may be mentioned here, on August 20, 2025, Russia will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of its atomic industry.
