Dhaka: Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Mostafa Mahmood Siddiq told journalists on April 27 that security has been significantly strengthened at all airports across Bangladesh, with heightened surveillance measures in place at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Authorities have increased monitoring at all key installations within the country’s busiest airport as part of broader precautionary steps. Law enforcement agencies deployed at airports have been instructed to adopt special measures to ensure passenger safety and operational security.
According to officials, the directive follows a warning issued by the Police Headquarters, which was also shared with airport authorities. Upon receiving the alert, CAAB moved swiftly to reinforce security arrangements nationwide.
Chairman Siddique confirmed all necessary steps have been taken to enhance vigilance and prevent any untoward incidents.
“All units of law enforcement agencies working at the airports have been instructed to remain on high alert and implement special security measures,” he said.
