Dhaka: Turkish Airlines will operate a second service between Istanbul and Dhaka starting July 17. The additional twice-weekly service will run until October 23, complementing the carrier's existing daily flights.
The Dhaka-bound flight, TK722, will depart from Istanbul at 15:30 on every Friday and Saturday and arrive in Dhaka at 02:05 on the next day, while the return flight, TK723, will leave Dhaka at 03:40 on every Saturday and Sunday and reach Istanbul at 09:35.
İslam Güre, Country Manager of Turkish Airlines in Bangladesh, confirmed the details in a social media post on May 16. He said the additional flights will offer even greater connectivity for Bangladesh through the carrier's extensive global network.
Turkish Airlines currently operates a daily service to Dhaka, offering seven weekly flights. The new twice-weekly service will take the total to nine weekly flights.
The additional offering from Turkish Airlines comes at a time when other international airlines, especially Middle Eastern carriers, are increasing frequencies to Dhaka.
From April 12, Dubai-based UAE national carrier Emirates started a third service, offering six additional weekly flights, while Oman Air upgraded its five-weekly service to a daily service from May 1. Qatar Airways added three more weekly flights with a third service in May.
Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways previously confirmed it will operate a seasonal service from June 26 to October 24, marking the carrier's return to Dhaka after a three-year absence.
