Dhaka: The U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh has explained how the Visa Bond Pilot Program will operate, outlining key procedures and conditions in a post shared on its official Facebook page on Monday, January 26.

According to the post, after a visa interview, applicants who are found eligible will receive payment instructions from a consular officer, including a direct link to pay.gov to submit the visa bond. The bond must be paid within 30 days of receiving the instructions.

Under the pilot program, applicants will be issued a single-entry visa with a maximum validity of three months. Visa holders will also be required to enter the United States through designated ports of entry.

The Embassy noted that once travelers return to their home country after fulfilling all visa conditions, the bond will be automatically canceled and the deposited amount will be refunded. These conditions include not engaging in employment in the United States and returning within the authorized period of stay.

The Visa Bond Pilot Program aims to ensure compliance with visa terms for temporary visitors, the Embassy said.
