Bangladesh among top tourist generating countries to Nepal

Dhaka: Bangladesh has been named among the top tourist generating counties to Nepal in 2021, according to reports. The 4th highest number of tourists to Nepal in 2021 came from Bangladesh showed a data reported by Nepalese media.

The highest number of tourists to the mountainous country came from India while the least number of tourists came from New Zealand.

Reports added that a total of 56,360 tourists came from India followed by 19,347 from the USA, 6,419 from the UK, 5,919 from China, 2,871 from Bangladesh, and 2,541 from Germany.

However, tourists’ arrival in Nepal has decreased by 34.4 per cent from January to November in 2021 compared to the same period in 2020.

A total of 1,26,283 tourists have entered Nepal by air from January to the end of November in 2021 while 1,92,604 tourists arrived in 2020 during the same period.

From January-November in 2021, tourists from 33 countries came to Nepal by air.

The tourist arrival from SAARC nations has reduced by 14.8 per cent, 85.3 per cent from Asia, 37.2 per cent from Europe, 81.4 per cent from Oceania and 34.4 per cent from the Americas and 33.7 per cent from others countries in 2021 compared to 2020.

The tourist arrival number was highest in the month of November 2021. A total of 26135 tourists came in November.

On the other hand, Nepal welcomed 23284 tourists in October, 22450 in April, 14977 tourists in March, 9898 in September.
