Dhaka to open visa centre in Kolkata

The Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in India announces that it will open an official visa application centre (VAC) in Kolkata city soon.
The announcement comes amid the celebrations of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the country's independence.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam said functions related to diplomacy and business are the main objectives of a diplomatic commission.
“We are planning to separate visa centres from the commissions, especially at embassies where there is an increasing rush of service-seekers,” he said.
Bangladesh has diplomatic missions in 75 countries around the world.
