flydubai launches additional flights to St Petersburg with B737 MAX

Dhaka: flydubai announced that it will launch an additional flight service to Russia from January 20. The destination will connect St Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport (LED) with Dubai International Airport (DXB). The air carrier believes this route will be a popular choice for leisure travellers as St Petersburg is the region's cultural capital.

This latest route announced by flydubai will be operated by members of the airline's Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet. The flight will be operated out of Terminal 2 at Dubai International.

flydubai anticipates the route will take approximately 6 hours and 50 minutes, making it the airline's third-longest route behind its newly announced routes to Pattaya and Krabi in Thailand, which will also launch on January 20.

The airline chose to launch a once-daily route to Pulkovo Airport as it anticipates high demand for leisure and business travel to the region. It has cited the city is one of the world's largest cultural centers and offers many unique opportunities for travellers.

The CEO at flydubai, Ghaith Al Ghaith, stated the following concerning the company's recent expansion and growth, "2022 has been a tremendous year for growth for flydubai. We have taken delivery of 18 new aircraft this year which has enabled us to continue to expand our network and add more capacity on some of our existing routes. We are confident this momentum will continue well into next year thanks to the hard work of everyone at flydubai and the encouraging economic environment Dubai has given us."
