Italian Embassy warns against fake documents in visa applications

Dhaka: The Embassy of Italy in Dhaka has issued a strong warning to visa applicants, urging them to submit only genuine and unaltered documents when applying for visas.

In an advisory issued on Monday, March 30, the embassy emphasized that presenting forged or manipulated documents will lead to immediate refusal of the visa application. The warning highlights growing concerns among Schengen missions over fraudulent submissions, which undermine the integrity of the visa process.

It means applicants are strictly advised to ensure that all supporting documents—such as financial statements, employment records, and invitation letters—are authentic and verifiable. Any attempt to deceive authorities through false documentation could also result in long-term consequences, including possible bans on future applications.

The advisory, also echoed by other Schengen state embassies in Dhaka, serves as a reminder that transparency and honesty are essential for a successful visa process.

Officials reiterated that compliance with documentation requirements not only increases approval chances but also helps maintain trust between applicants and diplomatic missions.
