Jet 2 reports bookings rush after lockdown

Jet2 is reporting a 150 per cent increase in bookings since the UK government eased travel restrictions.
The massive surge in demand has seen bookings return to pre-pandemic levels for Yeadon-based Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.
The company says the removal of pre-departure testing in resort as well as the scrapping of PCR tests after arrival in England and Northern Ireland for fully vaccinated customers has led to an immediate spike in bookings - which increased by 150 per cent within a day.
After the government's announcement last week Jet2.com and Jet2holidays launched a flash sale for Winter 21/22, Summer 22, Winter 22/23, and Summer 23.
Jet2holidays is offering £50 off per person on package holidays. Jet2.com, is offering 10 per cent off flights up to October 31. Bookings must be made by January 18.
CEO Steve Heapy said: “The relaxation of travel restrictions is welcome news for both the travel industry and holidaymakers and comes during what is traditionally a very busy period for holiday bookings. We have seen an immediate and dramatic spike in bookings, with volumes since the Government announcement heading towards pre-pandemic levels, which demonstrates just how much demand is out there amongst people wanting to get away for a much-needed holiday."
