Dhaka: National Hotel and Tourism training institute of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation is participating for the 6th time in this World's largest Culinary Competition among young chefs. The 8th International Virtual IIHM Young Chef Olympiad 2022 is taking place from January 30 to February 5 virtually due to the pandemic.
The International Hospitality Council, London in association with International Institute of Hotel Management, one of the world's largest Hotel School Chain, pioneered the Young Chef Olympiad with a vision to give young student chefs from around the world a platform to showcase their skills and compete at the global level.
They have been organising Young Chef Olympiad since 2015. Each year, over 50 countries participate in the World's biggest Culinary Competition spread across five cities of India, spanning over seven days, with the finals held in Kolkata.
Jahida Begum, Head of F&B Production, NHTTI and Nadia, student of NHTTI are performing as mentor and contestant at the Olympiad respectively.
Earlier, NHTTI won Ambassador Award, Welcome Skills Award and few other recognitions in the previous YCO competitions.
At YCO 2022, the panel of judges comprise some of the best known chefs and hospitality stalwarts from all over the globe. The Chairman of the Jury is none other than the legendary Prof David Foskett (MBE).The Principal Judge and Mentor Iconic Padmashree Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Chef Brian Turner, Chef Anton Edelman, Chef John Wood, Chef Andrew Bennett, Chef Stuart Littlejohn, Chef Chris Galvin, Chef Andy Varma, Chef Enzo Oliveri, Chef Ranveer Brar, Chef Abhijit Saha, Chef Stephen Hogan, Chef Andreas Muller, Chef David Graham and the list goes on.
Dr Suborno Bose, Chairman YCO global Council, Co-Chairman, International Hospitality Council, and Founder and Chief Mentor, IndiSmart Group is the central man behind this world’s largest culinary show by the young learners.
