Dhaka: Fully vaccinated international passengers to Bangladesh will no longer need a negative Covid-19 test report to enter the country effective immediately.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh made the announcement in a circular on March 8.

Meanwhile, unvaccinated passengers can enter the country if they carry a negative RT-PCR Covid-19 certificate, done 72 hours before departure, the circular added.

It further said, passengers below 12 years of age do not require the negative Covid-19 test report as well.

CAAB also mentioned, irrespective of Covid-19 vaccine certificate or negative coronavirus test report, if a passenger shows symptoms on arrival, he/she will be sent to a government facility for Covid testing. If the test returns positive, they will be isolated at their own expense at a hotel or a government facility. They will be released after seven days of isolation, if the test result comes negative upon testing.

On the other hand, outgoing passengers to international destinations will need to follow the guidelines of their respective destination countries, CAAB noted.
