Dhaka: The civil aviation regulator of the UAE has opened an investigation into an aborted take-off by a passenger aircraft of Emirates in January from Dubai airport.
The airline confirmed the matter on January 15, said reports.
The flight EK524 with passengers to Hyderabad in India was directed by the air traffic control of Dubai Airport to “reject take-off on departure” on January 9 which was completed successfully, confirmed the airline.
“There was no aircraft damage, nor were there any injuries. Safety is always our top priority, and as with any incident we are conducting our own internal review,” the spokesperson said as per reports.
The spokesperson mentioned that the General Civil Aviation Authority's Air Accident Investigation Sector is investigating the incident as well by the UAE AAIS.
Reports claimed the Boeing 777 aircraft of Emirates started taking-off while another B777 was crossing the runway. Hence, the take-off was aborted after the wide-body jet reached 100 knots.
