Air Astra awards its top business partners, resumes flights to Sylhet

Dhaka: Air Astra, the latest entrant to the country's airline industry, successfully hosted its Business Partners Award Giving Ceremony 2025 at an elite hotel in the capital on May 21.

The event celebrated the contributions of the airline's top 20 business partners, who supported its growth and success. Air Astra's Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Head of Sales, and other high officials attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Imran Asif, CEO, Air Astra, said, "Our business partners have always been an invaluable extension of the Air Astra family. Their unwavering support, strategic insights, and exceptional performance were critical in helping us achieve our objectives and significantly expand our footprint. This ceremony was a testament to our profound gratitude and a well-deserved celebration of their hard work and commitment."

During the ceremony, the top 20 business partners were presented with a crest by Air Astra's management for their performance and contribution to the airline's operations.

The event also served as a platform for networking and strengthening future collaborations.

It may be mentioned here, Air Astra operates five daily flight to/from Cox's Bazar and Chattogram each, and four daily flights to/from Saidpur with its fleet of four ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Resumes flights to Sylhet

Ahead of Eid al-Adha, the newest private airline Air Astra resumed flights on Dhaka-Sylhet route from May 29, the carrier announced.

The airline is operating two daily flights between Dhaka and Sylhet initially.

On the development, Imran Asif, CEO, Air Astra said, "Sylhet is an important destination for Air Astra. Due to aircraft shortage, we had suspended flights on that route, but now they continue regularly."

Flights from Dhaka depart at 7:30 am and 7:30 pm, while return flights from Sylhet leave at 8:50 am and 8:50 pm.

The minimum one-way fare on the route is BDT 4,699.

The airline's spokesperson Sakib Hasan Shovo said, "Although the flight operation was launched with Eid in mind, regular flights now continues on the route."

Air Astra started operating domestic flights from November 24, 2022.

They launched flights to Sylhet on February 23, 2023, after launching services to Chattogram and Cox's Bazar.

Flights on the Sylhet route were temporarily suspended earlier in May 2024.

Currently, the airline operates: four daily flights on Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route, five daily flights on Dhaka-Chattogram route, and three daily flights on Dhaka-Saidpur route with a fleet of four ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Air Astra is the newest private airline to enter the market.

Soon, the airline aims to launch international flight operations.
