Dhaka: The second edition of the Beautiful Bangladesh Run 2026 was held on April 25 morning at Hathirjheel, bringing together close to a thousand runners from different parts of the country in a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
Organized by the Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB), the event began at 6:00 am from Police Plaza Point and featured two categories—a 7.5-kilometer competitive race and a 2-kilometer fun run. Participants from various professions, especially those linked to aviation and tourism, took part enthusiastically.
M Rasheduzzaman Millat attended the program as chief guest and distributed awards among the winners. He praised the initiative, saying such events help promote public health awareness while also supporting the growth of Bangladesh’s tourism sector. He also noted ongoing government efforts to attract foreign investment for developing world-class tourism infrastructure, mentioning discussions with major international developers such as UAE-based Emaar Properties.
Title sponsor Rhythm Group’s Deputy Managing Director Abir Hossain expressed satisfaction over the strong turnout, highlighting the positive social message behind the initiative and suggesting plans to expand the event internationally in the future.
ATJFB President Tanzim Anwar said, the run is part of broader efforts to promote tourism through mass participation and public engagement. He added that future editions may extend beyond Dhaka, with plans to host events in locations such as Cox’s Bazar’s Marine Drive.
In the competitive events, Md Elahi Sardar won the men’s 7.5 km race, while Hamida Akter Jeba secured first place in the women’s category. In the two km run, Mohibur Rahman and Noor-e-Saba topped the men’s and women’s categories respectively. Winners were awarded trophies along with air tickets and prizes from a raffle draw.
