Kuala Lumpur : AirAsia Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer Riad Asmat announced to leave his role at the airline to be a board member at AirAsia Aviation Group.
Riad was appointed to the role in January 10, 2018 and had been responsible for the company's Malaysia-based operations, AirAsia Aviation Group said, as per reports.
The CEO, who relinquished the position effective December 31, 2023, said he would "take a bit of a break" in an Instagram message to followers.
In his Instagram post, Riad thanked AirAsia and the team "for their undying support given throughout the good as well as bad times," and said it was "truly an honour to have been given the opportunity to work with each and everyone one of you throughout these years."
"I don't really believe in goodbyes as it's more of a 'see you around' thing for me. So 'see you around' guys," Riad said in the post, adding that he "loved every single bit of the journey with AirAsia with no regrets."
