Dhaka : Biman Bangladesh Airlines completed the pre-Hajj flights for Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims in 2023.
The last pre-Hajj flight BG 335 left Dhaka for Jeddah with 262 Bangladeshi pilgrims around 7:15pm on June 22, 2023, said Tahera Khandaker, General Manager (Public Relations) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
A total of 61,151 pilgrims safely reached Saudi Arabia in 2023 by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, she added.
Biman has operated 160 pre-hajj flights starting from May 21, 2023.
All flights were operated on time as Biman has given highest priority to Hajj activities, she further mentioned.
The first return Hajj flight will land in Dhaka with the pilgrims at 06:05 am on July 3, 2023.
Biman going ahead with Airbus planes l
Biman has decided to purchase 10 planes from Airbus, making a move to shift from its Boeing-dominated fleet, said State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali on June 19.
"As per our requirement, the decision has been taken to purchase 10 aircraft in phases. The technical committee is assessing now," added the State Minister.
