Dhaka : The International Civil Aviation Organi-sation (ICAO) is eager to continue all kinds of support to the Bangladesh government to develop its aviation industry in line with the latter's Vision 2041.

The liberalisation of air transport is essential to make Bangladesh an aviation hub, said ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar at a press conference on the closing day of the 58th conference of Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on October 19.

He said, "ICAO will provide training, management, and guidelines under a bilateral framework to help Bangladesh build an aviation hub."

During a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, ICAO Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano commended the state's long-standing commitment to cooperation with ICAO and the premier's exemplary leadership on gender equality priorities, particularly within the aviation sector.

On October 16, Carlos along with ICAO Council President Salvatore Sciacchitano paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabhaban.
