Qatar Airways launching flights to Chattogram from March 11, 2024

Dhaka : Qatar Airways will be launching flights to and from Chattogram effective March 11, 2024, as the airline announced seven new destinations, 11 route resumptions, and frequency increases on 35 routes0. 

The new routes to be operated by Qatar Airways are: Chattogram (Bangladesh), Juba (South Sudan), Kinshasa (the Democratic Republic of the Congo), Lyon and Toulouse (France), Medan (Indonesia), and Trabzon (Turkey). 

Qatar Airways said these routes will be launched throughout the year, with Trabzon being the first (June 16, 2023) and Chattogram the last (March 11, 2024). The airline will start flying to Lyon on July 3 and to Medan on January 15, 2024.

During its participation at ITB Berlin 2023, Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Qatar Airways Group, announced that the airline will add over 655 weekly flights to its summer 2023 schedule compared to 2022. Overall, Qatar Airways will have a 21 per cent increase in flights by July 2023, compared with the same month in 2022, which translates plus 655 frequencies.

As we expand our fleet, network, partnerships, and international presence, we look forward to working together to deliver sustainable growth and a compelling future for the industry," said Akbar Al Baker. 

Following a long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Qatar Airways has slowly resumed most of its pre-pandemic map route. On March 7, the Middle Eastern carrier announced it is resuming flights to 11 destinations.

These destinations are Beijing (China), Birmingham (UK), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Casablanca and Marrakech (Morocco), Davao (Philippines), Nice (France), Osaka and Tokyo Haneda (Japan), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Ras Al-Khaimah (UAE).

The first route to be resumed will be Doha-Beijing, restarting on March 26. Qatar Airways will return to Davao on April 1; Nice on May 9; Tokyo Haneda on June 1; Birmingham on July 10; Phnom Pen on October 29; Ras Al Haima on November 1; Buenos Aires on December 8; and Osaka on March 1, 2024.

By the end of March 2024, Qatar Airways will offer a total of 174 destinations, the airline said during its presentation in Berlin. 
Qatar Airways also announced that 35 destinations globally will see an increase in the number of frequencies in 2023.

Some of the most interesting destinations include London Heathrow and London Gatwick, which will go from 42 and seven weekly frequencies to 45 and 14, respectively. Qatar Airways will also increase frequencies to Edinburgh (ten to 14), Dublin (12 to 14), Zurich (ten to 14), Berlin (11 to 14), Vienna (ten to 14), Hong Kong (11 to 14), Phuket (14 to 21), Denpasar (14 to 21), and many more.
