Singapore : Singapore Airlines has been tweaking its provisional flight schedule for next year's northern summer season recently, and it is good news for the carrier's Amsterdam route, which will see a reintroduction of First Class from July 2026, thanks to the reinstatement of the Boeing 777-300ER.
This will restore a First Class option to the Dutch capital for the first time since May 2016, when the route became the inaugural long-haul destination for Singapore Airlines' brand new Airbus A350 Long Haul, replacing Boeing 777-300ERs on a daily basis.
The carrier had previously upgraded the route from Boeing 777-200ER operation in April 2014, giving it a First Class option for only two years over the last decade or so.
The July 2026 upgrade will coincide with an Airbus A350 Long Haul being rostered onto a similarly-timed daily London Heathrow service - displacing a 777-300ER for this route - a rare instance of First Class being removed from one of four daily flights to the UK capital.
This move is designed to showcase SIA's brand new Business Class product on the key London route from next summer.
Amsterdam will become the 19th route to have its SIA First Class option restored for at least part of the year.
