Istanbul : Turkish Airlines in May 2023 announced the airline will be making a 600 aircraft order to bring its fleet number to 813 by 2033. However, at the IATA AGM in Istanbul held on June 4-6, Prof Dr Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of Turkish Airlines, stated that the airline will wait another two months before concluding the decision.
He also added that the company does not want to rush such a big decision.
"We need around 600 aircraft. We are in talks with both Airbus and Boeing, the main providers to the aviation industry. We are talking about is the MAX and neo - 400 aircraft for the narrowbodies," the chairman said.
