Dhaka : Vietnamese carrier VietJet Air will be launching direct flights between Bangladesh and Vietnam from December 2022. Initially, the airline will operate chartered flights on Hanoi-Dhaka-Hanoi route. However, plans are underway to begin regular commercial flights in phases if passenger demand seems promising.
Taslim Amin Shovon, Director and CEO of InnoGlobe Travel and Tours Limited, the Bangladeshi partner of Victoria Tour, said this at an event in the capital on October 24.
Vietnamese tour operator company Victoria Tour also announced various travel packages including visa processing at an affordable cost for Bangladeshi tourists to travel to the popular tourist destination.
"It takes a lot of time and money to travel from Bangladesh to Vietnam as the flights go via a third country. If direct flights are launched, it will be economical in all aspects," Shovon added.
Once direct flight operation starts, it will serve as a bridge between the people of the two countries as well as expand tourism and trade between Bangladesh and Vietnam.
Victoria Tour Managing Director Nong Van Chien Victor was the special guest at the event.
He said that the nature, rich culture, heritage and friendly people of Bangladesh are the great assets of Bangladesh's tourism industry.
The tourism and civil aviation sectors of the respective countries will play an important role in developing the field of cooperation between the two countries in the future, he added.
Bangladesh Tourism Board member and former President of TOAB Md Rafeeuzzam, ATAB Secretary General Abdus Salam Aref, Saimon Group Managing Director and ATAB Vice President Afsia Jannat Saleh, among others, were also present on the occasion.
