Gold prices reduced further by 1.26pc/BDT 1,167 per bhori

Dhaka : Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BAJUS) on February 26 reduced the price of gold for the second time in the last three weeks.
Price of the precious metal has been cut by 1.26 per cent or BDT 1,167 a bhori, which will reduce pressure on the wallets of customers buying gold ornaments.

With the latest cut, a customer will be able to buy one bhori of 22-carat gold (11.664 grammes) at BDT 91,095, down from BDT 92,263 which was made effective on February 5, 2023. 

The new prices have been in effect from February 27, said BAJUS in a press release.

The rate was re-fixed as the prices of pure gold declined in the domestic market, it said.

BAJUS had been hiking the price of gold since October 24, 2022, when it last slashed the price of the metal, popularly used by people of all walks of life in the form of ornaments.

The association kept prices of silver unchanged at BDT 147 per gramme of 22 carat silver.
