Prof Dr Harun-Ur- Rashid accorded Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Gold Medal

Dhaka : Eminent Nephrologist Professor Dr Harun-Ur- Rashid was accorded Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Gold Medal-2020 for his contribution to the field of treatment service. 
On October 27, 2022, the Medal was handed over to him in a ceremony held at Dhaka Ahsania Mission Auditorium in Dhanmondi of the capital.
National Professor AK Azad Khan was present as the chief guest while Dhaka Ahsania Mission President Kazi Rafiqul Alam presided over the programme.
Prof AK Azad Khan said, Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah is a man of versatile talents. The contribution he has made in the establishment of Dhaka University needs to be focused to everyone.
He also said that Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah was religious but he was not a fanatic. We have a lot to learn from his life.
Dr Harun-Ur- Rashid said, "We are working on how to reduce the cost of kidney dialysis and to diagnose and cure kidney disease at its earliest stage. Making people aware is a very difficult task. We continue this difficult work."
He also said that it is necessary to do a urine and blood sugar test only after the age of 40 years. He urged all to walk for 30 minutes every day.
Founder Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Open University and South-East University and renowned Nuclear Scien-tist Professor Dr M Shamsher Ali, Managing Director Kidney Foundation Hospital and Research Institute Tini Ferdous Rashid were discussants in the programme. 
The brief introduction of the gold medalist was read by the Vice President of Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Professor Dr Kazi Shariful Alam. 
The welcome speech was given by the member of the Executive Committee of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Dr M Ehsanur Rahman.
Since 1985, Dhaka Ahsania Mission has been awarding the Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Gold Medal to a national level personality every year to recognise the talent and contribution of contemporary personalities.
