Dhaka : The favorite and delectable butter garlic naan has been dubbed the best bread in the world by TasteAtlas's March 2025 rankings.
This particular variant has officially beaten other global favorites like bagels, bolani, and pita.
The acknowledgment should come as a rejoice to the foodies of the region, as naan has long been a favorite here.
Walk into any local restaurant, from the time-less eateries of Puran Dhaka to the modern upscale diners in Gulshan, and a hot basket of garlic naan will never be missed, served alongside mouthwatering curries, kebabs, and tandoori treats.
Several other breads have made their place on thew list. Butter garlic naan topped the chart with a rating of 4.7 by TasteAtlas.
The official website of TasteAtlas described the bread as, "Butter garlic naan is a traditional flatbread and one of the most popular versions of naan. It is made with flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and dahi. Once the dough has been baked in a hot tandoor oven, the golden naan is taken out and brushed with butter or ghee, then topped with minced garlic."
"It's recommended to serve butter garlic naan with a variety of dishes such as curries, butter chicken, dal makhani, malai kofta, or shahi paneer."
Parotta grabbed the sixth spot in the list. The other pieces of bread on the list are-Naan in the eighth spot, paratha in the 18th spot, and bhatura, in the 26th position. There's also aloo naan, which snagged the 28th spot, and Roti in the 35th position.
