Singapore Airlines cancels Dubai flights through August 2

Dhaka: Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced it has extended the suspension of regular scheduled services between Singapore and Dubai due to the ongoing geopolitical situation in the Middle East.

In a social media post on May 6, the airline said Dubai-bound flight SQ494 and return flight SQ495 both will remain suspended until August 2. Earlier, the two flights were cancelled until May 31.

SIA noted that as the situation remains fluid, other flights may also be affected. Passengers were advised to check SIA's Flight Status page for the latest updates.

Customers impacted by the cancellations are entitled to a full refund of the unused portion of their tickets. Those who booked directly with SIA may submit a request through the airline's Assistance Request Form.

Passengers who purchased tickets via travel agents or partner airlines are advised to contact their respective agent or purchasing airline for assistance.

SIA has also urged affected customers to update their contact details through the 'Manage Booking' function on its website or to subscribe to the airline's mobile notification service to receive flight status updates.

The airline said it "apologizes to all affected customers for the inconvenience caused."
