Dhaka : The smell and freshness of a new place is the first thing you will find as you enter Shalimar Kitchen. The restaurant opened its doors last November. In the vicinity of Dhanmondi, there are lots of buffet restaurants but if someone is opting for a true flavour of Mughal delicacy, Shalimar is the perfect choice.

When I arrived at Shalimar Kitchen just opposite to Rapa Plaza on the first floor, I was charmed with the décor, simple but elegant, with a touch of Mughal décor with well blended colours of white cream and golden balanced with the multi-colour Turkish light shades to sooth your eyes.
There is an array of Mughal dishes and rightly pointed out on its baseline, Kacchi and Kebab. The kebabs are fresh and tasty and the platter is palatable. The menu shows that they can serve a wide variety - Chicken Reshmi, Chap, Tandori and Beef Shick and Boti, Grilled Fish, Special Mutton Kurma, whole Tandoori Chicken with mixed Kebabs. So, you can fill your belly to your taste.
Apart from these, you can have Special Beef curry, Jali Kebab, variety of Nan, from Garlic to Paneer, Kebabs, Paneer Tikka, Chicken Tangdi Kebab and Chicken BBQ etc. There are more on the list to explore.
Briyani lovers can try the set menu, the price is not heavy on your pocket, rather very much reasonable and can beat any other restaurant with its taste and ambiance. Also, Kebab platters are available to your delight.
The restaurant has its Kebabs prepared on the ground floor and rest on the first floor with a sitting capacity of 75, but at the same time you can have takeaway. Catering service is also available.
The Muslims are preparing for the Ramadan and the restaurant is also planning for special iftar menu, which will come with 20/25 buffet items, with some special items like Chicken Roast, Halim and Jalebi.
The staff are well trained and they welcome you from 12 pm to 11 pm to meet your taste buds.
