Dhaka has been witnessing a deluge of eateries and restaurants, since the last few years. The last decade has seen a huge upward rise in the dine-out scenario, in terms of both variety and number. Amidst all the different cuisines entering and making their tasty treats, there was a dearth of really good patisseries and confectioners. Coffee shops have been brewing their own cups in different corners of the city - with only a few offering authentic and awesome perfect pastries.
Le d'Or is one such place which made its debut in October 2024. It is a boulangerie and patisserie duo. A boulangerie refers to a French bakery that specializes in bread, where bakers knead, shape, and bake goods on the premises. Artisanal baking methods produce a variety of breads with quality ingredients. A patisserie describes French pastries and the pastry shop.
The menu is as rich as it could be. There is an array of tartes, cookies, pound cakes, gateaux, mousses, and a spread of savories. Viennoiseries is also a stellar item in their menu. These are a category of baked goods, including items like croissants and pain au chocolate - that bridge the gap between bread and pastry.

Each segment of the menu has a dozen, if not more, tempting treats to sate the food-lovers palette. Savory spreads include a variety of Sausage Rolls, Chicken Pies, Croissants (both sweet and savory), Rhapsodies of Danish, Brioches-n-Breads-n-Baguettes. Their Tartes are absolute treats! Portuguese Tart, Tatin Tart, Pistachio/Pear-n- Grapefruit Tart, Nashi Tart, Exotic Crumble Tart are some of their popular ones. Cookies and Cakes come in different tastes and flavors. Walnut Chocolate, Special Salle Smiley, Fudge Chocolate - are a few of the loved ones among the cookies.
A patisserie menu is incomplete without gateaux and cakes. More so when it is a place like Le d'Or. This segment is drizzled with delectable cakes like Tiramisu/Chocolate Riche/Bourbon/Damier/Cube (pista/ strawberry/lime) Cakes, coupled with delicious Cheesecakes in different flavors - strawberry/ raspberry/ pistachio/caramel and of course blueberry. Other favorites are - Mousses-n- Muffins, Crème Brulee-n-Palines-n-Eclairs - which are a few of their other very popular treats.

This fabulous French Patisserie is all about everything French - be it the chef, or the culinary delights or the décor. Wood and cane are the main interior elements, which, coupled with the Tiffany Blue hues, makes the place a truly beautiful one.
Le d'Or has three outlets in the city right now - in Banani, Dhanmondi, Gulshan Avenue. Around 60 guests can be seated in all the outlets. The Gulshan/ Banani outlets are open from 8:00 am to 2:00 am. The Dhanmondi outlet timing is 7:00 am to 1:00 am. Their next branch is scheduled to open in Uttara this month. It is supposed to have a larger seating.
The menu is redesigned every few months. As it is evident in their efforts and endeavors - this place was born out of passion for French baking and confections -to share these authentic and awesome treats with the food-lovers here.
Now, there is a place in Dhaka, which has debuted to bring slices of French Patisseries and Gateaux in a variety of crafted artisanal forms. Le d'Or is undoubtedly the place to create sweet memories with sweet treats - to celebrate the sweet moments of life!
