New Committee for Sonargaon Hotel Sromik-O-Karmachari Union

Dhaka : The 18th Sonargaon Hotel Sromik-O-Karmachari Union (SHSOKU) election was held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on November 9, 2025. The newly elected President is Dulal Chandra Mazumder, while for the position of General Secretary, Md Shah Alam was voted as the winner. The Dulal-Alam coalition won the election by a significant margin as compared to the opposition.

A total of 38 candidates from two panels - Dulal-Alam Parishad and Azam-Saiful Parishad - contested for 19 executive positions. The total number of voters in the election was 271.

The candidates of the Dulal-Alam Parishad are as follows: For President - Dulal Chandra Majumder; General Secretary - Shah Alam; Senior Vice President - Julies D'Silva; Vice Presidents - Md Aksar Hossain, Md Shafiqul Islam, Md Siddiqur Rahman, and Md Abu Bakar Siddique; Joint Secretary - Tanvir Ahmed Siddiqui; Assistant Secretaries - Md Saiduzzaman and Md. Mainuddin Min; Women Affairs Secretary - Ilora Agnes Mrong; Organizing Secretary - Rasheduzzaman; Finance Secretary - Hafez Md Saiful Islam; Office Secretary - Khairul Alam; Legal Affairs Secretary - M A Jabbar Chowdhury; Publicity Secretary - Md Shaheen Mia; Sports Secretary - Md Sadekur Rahman; Welfare Secretary - Md Zahid Hossain; and Health Affairs Secretary - Md Zahidul Kabir.

Eight other members of the Election Conducting Committee were also present during the voting including Chief Election Commissioner Khandaker Mizanur Rahman.
