Dhaka: Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam has ordered authorities to intensify cleanliness measures at all airports across the country to ensure passenger comfort and safety.
The minister stressed the importance of maintaining proper hygiene standards at airports and directed the concerned authorities to immediately arrange mosquito control spraying in airport premises and surrounding areas.
She issued the directive while addressing the review meeting on the January progress of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) implementation for the 2025–26 fiscal year, held at the ministry’s conference room today, read a press release.
Speaking at the meeting, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat highlighted the urgent need to resolve the trolley shortage at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to enhance passenger services. He emphasized procuring 1,000 new luggage trolleys at the earliest possible time.
The state minister also called on all relevant stakeholders to work in coordination to ensure that passengers can travel smoothly without facing any harassment.
Both the minister and the state minister instructed officials concerned to complete the ongoing development projects within the stipulated timeframe.
