Dhaka: The Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister, Afroza Khanam, has underscored the government’s commitment to ensuring that Hajj pilgrims are not subjected to any form of harassment, describing it as a moral obligation of public officials.
Speaking at a Hajj management progress review meeting held at the ministry's conference room on Sunday, the minister stated, “We must ensure that Hajj pilgrims do not face harassment under any circumstances. We must also make our highest efforts to help them perform Hajj smoothly. As employees of the state, this is our ethical responsibility.”
State Minister M. Rasheduzzaman Millat emphasized the importance of assigning the right personnel to the right responsibilities to ensure effective management. He added that both he and the minister hope to visit the Hajj camp to directly observe the overall situation on the ground.
The meeting also featured detailed discussions on increasing the frequency of Hajj flights to better accommodate pilgrims and ensure timely travel arrangements.
Among those present were Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Nasreen Jahan, Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Md. Kamal Uddin, and other senior officials.
