Dhaka: As the Hajj season approaches, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam has issued a stern warning that no irregularities in passenger services will be tolerated.

She made the remarks on Monday, February 23, while speaking to journalists at a views-exchange meeting held at the Manikganj Circuit House auditorium.

The minister clearly stated all concerned authorities must remain on the highest alert to ensure that citizens traveling to perform the holy Hajj do not face even the slightest inconvenience. She also announced strict action against dishonest syndicates involved in the airline ticket trade.

Afroza Khanam said although she has had limited time since assuming office, work has already begun in full swing. The rapid operational launch of the third terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport has been placed on the priority list. She added that the prime minister has shown special interest in this matter.

The minister further stated that every stage of preparation for smooth Hajj operations will be closely monitored. Relevant departments have been instructed to perform their duties in a coordinated manner. At the same time, initiatives are being taken to improve airport service standards to ensure greater comfort for expatriates traveling to and from the country.

She emphasized that efforts are underway so that passengers can experience a positive change immediately upon arrival in Bangladesh.
