Dhaka: Captain Ali Azam and Captain Tashdique Rahman have become the first Airbus A330 captains through the US-Bangla Airlines Career Path Program, as per an official statement released on Monday, February 23.

"In a proud milestone for aviation in Bangladesh, two distinguished pilots have made history by becoming the first captains on the Airbus A330 from US-Bangla Airlines as per the company's career policy, a program led by Captain Nasim E. Ahmed, Fleet Chief A330, US-Bangla Airlines," said the airline.

Throughout the process, the two aviators, Captain Azam and Captain Rahman, have demonstrated the professionalism and competence required to take the left seat on the Airbus A330, one of the world’s most reliable long-range aircraft.

US-Bangla Airlines remarked on their accomplishment as a significant step forward for the country’s aviation sector, as well as an inspiration for the next generation of pilots aspiring to command wide-body fleets.

Since 2024, the country's largest private airline, US-Bangla Airlines, has been operating the Airbus A330 aircraft. The fleet currently comprises three A330-343s, each fitted with 436 seats, in a single-class, all-economy cabin configuration, becoming the largest aircraft of the country by passenger capacity.
