Dhaka: Etihad Airways will launch a seasonal service to Dhaka starting June 26. The new service, aimed at strengthening the carrier's trade and cargo links across the South Asia corridor, came as a response to strong and sustained demand for travel and logistics between the UAE and Bangladesh.
According to an official statement, the Dhaka-bound flight, EY382, will depart Abu Dhabi at 22:00 on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday to arrive in Dhaka at 04:50. While the return flight, EY383, will leave Dhaka at 21:35 on every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday to reach Abu Dhabi at 00:40. The four-weekly service will run through October 24. All times are local.
The Abu Dhabi-based UAE national carrier will deploy its Boeing 777-300ERs on this seasonal service, offering 28 business and 374 economy-class seats. The wide-body aircraft's belly-hold cargo capacity will provide significant support for growing trade flows between Bangladesh and the UAE.
Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves said, "Dhaka is a strategically important market, with strong and sustained demand across both passenger and cargo segments. This service allows us to deploy capacity where it is most needed, strengthening links between Bangladesh, the UAE, and key global markets."
"The route plays an important role in supporting export-driven industries, particularly in sectors such as textiles, while enhancing Abu Dhabi’s connectivity across South Asia," he added.
Etihad expects the new service will ensure a direct and efficient link for Bangladeshi citizens living in the UAE, alongside providing seamless onward connections for Bangladeshi diaspora communities in the United Kingdom, Italy, and North America.
Moreover, the wide-body cargo capacity on the route will enable reliable and efficient movement of cargo, particularly for Bangladesh’s garment and textile sector, supporting exporters with improved access to markets across the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
