Dhaka: NOVOAIR, one of the country’s three private airlines, shut down its flight services from May 2.

Reports cited NOVOAIRs Head of Marketing and Sales Mesbahul Islam confirming the matter, claiming that the airline has stopped operating flights temporarily.

The airline is reportedly in efforts to sell its aircraft, awaiting inspection from a group of buyers. Till then, flight operations have been suspended, with chances to resume later, said another NOVOAIR representative, as per reports.

The airline initially stopped reservations on April 19 and later resumed flights. However, since May 2, the carrier has shut down services completely.

In late January 2024, NOVOAIR sold two of its ATR 72-500 aircraft to Nepal's Yeti Airlines. Since then, the airline has five aircraft in its fleet.

NOVOAIR commenced commercial flight operations with Dhaka-Chattogram route from January 9, 2013. Till May 2, 2025, the airline had operated over 100,000 flights and served more than 7.5 million passengers.
