Dhaka: US-Bangla Airlines started nonstop service to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on April 21. The inaugural flight took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka, at 15:10 local time (LT) with 423 passengers onboard and safely touched down at King Khalid International Airport, Riyadh, at 18:20 LT.
According to a release, the airline will operate five weekly flights on this route, deploying its wide-body fleet of two Airbus A330-343 aircraft, each configured to carry 436 passengers in a single-class, all-economy seating configuration.
The Riyadh-bound flight, BS381, will take off from Dhaka on every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday at 13:20 LT and arrive in Riyadh at 17:10 LT. The return flight, BS382, will depart from Riyadh at 19:15 LT and arrive in Dhaka at 4:00 LT on the following day.
US-Bangla described the newly launched service, together with its previously launched service to Jeddah, another major destination in Saudi Arabia, as part of its commitment to serve Bangladeshi expatriates. Moreover, the airline said it'll ensure wage earners reach any domestic destination in Bangladesh within the shortest possible time utilizing its vast countrywide network.
The largest privately owned full-service carrier in Bangladesh, US-Bangla Airlines, currently operates flights to Jeddah, Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Doha, Male, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Guangzhou, Chennai, and Kolkata with a mixed fleet of 24 aircraft, comprising two Airbus 330-343 wide-bodies, nine Boeing 737-800 narrow-bodies, and nine ATR 72-600 narrow-bodies. The airline launched operations to Riyadh as its 14th international destination.
