Dhaka: The issue of illegal immigration took center stage at a meeting held on Monday, March 2, between U.S. Ambassador Brent T. Christensen and Home Affairs Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, according to a Facebook post by the U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh.
In the post, Ambassador Christensen said his discussion with the minister focused on strengthening efforts to combat illegal immigration and enhancing cooperation to address related security concerns. He emphasized the importance of coordinated action in tackling irregular migration and preventing associated risks.
The meeting also discussed deepening collaboration on broader security and counterterrorism issues, underscoring the two countries’ commitment to working together to address shared challenges.
