Dhaka: Biman Bangladesh Airlines launched services of its motor transport department on February 17. Customers can now avail of services from this modern motor service center at a reasonable price.
M Mahbub Ali, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism inaugurated the services of Biman’s motor transport department through a ribbon-cutting ceremony held at its head office in the capital.
In his speech, the state minister mentioned how the government is prioritizing the aviation and tourism sector of the country. All the airports of the country are getting developed as well as a favorable market condition, he added. The state minister further reminded that the government waived charges for landing, parking, boarding, security, and BNHO from March 26 to September 30, 2020, for domestic flights to help airlines survive through the travel plunge caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Mahbub Ali stressed how diversification of operations is key in today’s age, referring to Biman’s recent efforts including the launching of the motor transport department.
Md Sajjadul Hasan, Chairman of Biman Board, M Mafidur Rahman, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh and Md Mokabbir Hossain, Managing Director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines also spoke on the occasion.
