Biman to receive second Dash-8 on February 24: Mahbub Ali

Dhaka: Biman Bangladesh Airline’s second Dash-8 aircraft is going to arrive in the country on February 24, announced State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali.

Adding such aircraft to the fleet, the flag carrier will be able to increase the standard of its inflight services to the passengers on domestic and short-haul international routes, said Mahbub Ali while speaking as the chief guest at the launch ceremony of Biman’s sales center at Dhanmondi in the capital on February 16.

This will be the second of the three brand new Dash-8 aircraft Biman purchased from Canada’s plane manufacturer De Havilland.

Biman already has a total of 13 aircraft in its fleet, including 12 brand new Boeings and a Dash-8.

Earlier, on December 27, the airline added its first Dash-8 aircraft to its fleet and will receive the third one on March 4, 2021, according to a press release.

Md Mokammel Hossain, Secretary, Civil Aviation and Tourism; Md Sajjadul Hasan, Chairman, Biman Board of Directors; and Md Mokabbir Hossain, Managing Director of the airline were also present at the launch ceremony of Biman’s Dhanmondi Sales Center.

It can be mention here that, along with flight tickets for all destinations, customers can also purchase cow meat, chicken, fish, seasonal vegetables, milk, and egg from the airline’s subsidiary Biman Poultry Complex from the sales outlet.
