Dhaka: Cathay Pacific has launched a thrice-weekly seasonal service linking Hong Kong and Adelaide, reinstating a direct connection between the two cities to support travel, trade and cultural exchange between Asia and Australia.

Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau said the airline was “delighted to return to Adelaide,” where it first began flying in 1992.

She described Adelaide as a dynamic South Australian city known for its food, wine and natural attractions.

The route is operated by Airbus A350-900 aircraft featuring fully flat beds in Business, spacious seats in Premium Economy and upgraded Economy cabins.

Inflight entertainment and Wi-Fi are available across the fleet, with complimentary connectivity for Business class passengers and Cathay Diamond members. Cathay Gold members will receive free access from Nov. 15, followed by Premium Economy passengers by year-end.

Cathay Pacific now serves six destinations in Australia — Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney — and operates nearly 100 return flights per week to Oceania, including Auckland and Christchurch.
