Emirates resumes flights to UK after a short break

Dhaka: Dubai-based airline Emirates is to resume their scheduled passenger flights to the United Kingdom from February 2 following temporary suspension. The airline will be initially resuming flights to London Heathrow and Manchester.

"From February 2, 2021, we will operate passenger flights to Dubai from London Heathrow and Manchester," Emirates said in a notice.

In an update on its website, Emirates said customers looking to leave the UK should be aware of quarantine arrangements that may face them at their destination.

"Customers seeking to leave the UK on these services should ensure that they are authorized to travel under the latest UK government rules, and meet the travel requirements of their final destination," the airline added in the notice.

On January 29, Emirates suspended its flight operations between the United Kingdom and Dubai after the UK government banned air operations between the United Arab Emirates to contain the spread of the new strain of coronavirus.

Emirates currently operates two flights a day from Dhaka with onward connections to destinations in the UK via Dubai.
