Dhaka: Global airline alliance oneworld has released its list of the most-searched destinations for Round the World (RTW) travel in 2026, with London, Tokyo and Doha topping queries on oneworld.com. Other leading cities include Hong Kong, Sydney, Los Angeles, Dallas/Fort Worth, New York, Melbourne and Singapore.
The alliance said searches for Pacific destinations such as Fiji, the Cook Islands, Kiribati and Hawaii have risen following this year’s addition of Fiji Airways and Oman Air, with Hawaiian Airlines set to join in 2026. Interest in Oman has also increased.
Japan remains the largest origin market for RTW tickets, followed by Australia, the UK, the United States and Hong Kong. Solo travellers account for 66% of RTW trips, typically covering around seven destinations over three months or more.
Roger Blackburn, oneworld’s vice president Commercial and Loyalty, said RTW searches point to strong demand for long-haul, multi-stop travel in 2026. He added that RTW fares are also gaining popularity among corporate travellers needing flexible, cost-efficient itineraries.
oneworld is the only global alliance offering multiple RTW fare options, bookable online, with customers able to earn frequent-flyer miles and access more than 700 lounges. RTW itineraries can include 3–16 flights across up to six continents and must feature both trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific sectors. Tickets are valid for 10 days to 12 months.
The alliance offers three RTW fare types:
• oneworld Explorer – continent-based; e.g., London–Muscat–Kuala Lumpur–Tokyo–Sydney–Nadi–Los Angeles–New York–London
• Global Explorer – distance-based; e.g., Sydney–Honolulu–San Francisco–Dallas–London–Helsinki–Hong Kong–Sydney
• Circle Pacific – for itineraries around the Pacific Rim; e.g., Tokyo–Honolulu–Los Angeles–Nadi–Auckland–Sydney–Hong Kong–Tokyo
